About Us

Masjid Al-Wali is a non-profit organization incorporated in the state of New Jersey to engage exclusively in religious, educational and community activities in conformity with the Quran and the Sunnah (Traditions) of the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him).
Masjid was founded in 2011. We are a growing community with a very diverse group, from all ethnic background. Although our backgrounds are very diverse, we hold true to the principle that we are all brothers and equal in the site of Allah (SWT). We each bring different strengths and collectively strive to fulfill the obligations of our deen according to the principles of the Quran and Sunnah.

Our History

December 12, 2011Contract to purchase the property at 10 Olsen Ave, Edison, NJ 08820 was signed.
March 29, 2012Closing Date – Documents signed and purchase completed.
August 5, 2012Plans and Drawings submitted to Edison Township for approval to begin the construction phase.
April 5, 2013Received construction permits.
May 17, 2013Ground breaking ceremony took place. Several religious and political leaders attended the ceremony.
October 1, 2013Construction started in full swing.
June 26, 2014Masjid opened up just in time for Ramadan.


Features Of The Masjid

Masjid is located in an industrial area consisting of 2.2 acres of land on a large cul-de-sac street.

Masjid consists of 18,500 square feet. The large prayer hall is approximately  8,500 square feet.  The two-story building next to the prayer hall has  5,000 square feet on each floor with an elevator.

Masjid Al-Wali is the very first Masjid in Edison and seeks to become the premiere Islamic center serving the needs of the broader community.


Our Vision

Our vision is to be open and embracing to all schools of thoughts, cultures, ethnicities and nationalities while still being steadfast on the core Islamic values as prescribed by the Qur’an and Sunnah which includes:

  • To encourage Muslims to understand and practice the Islamic doctrines and way of life as per the Qur’an and Sunnah
  • To engage in propagation of Islam
  • To serve as a Masjid for religious, educational, social, and cultural activities while remaining in alignment with the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah
  • To provide Islamic services, guidance and assistance to the Muslim community
  • To help celebrate Islamic holidays and festivals
  • To promote inter-faith dialogue and discussion, promote positive relations between Muslims and non-Muslims, especially among members of similar organizations in the community
  • To promote and support Islamic causes
  • To follow the laws and regulations of our nation
